The Poggio Valente Fattoria Le Pupille wine was born in the area of the famous Morellino di Scansano. The name Le Pupille derives from the two buildings that stand on the hill overlooking the hamlet of Pereta. This is the typical environmental setting that immediately recalls the collective imagination to the Tuscan winemaking tradition of the vineyards located in the hilly contexts. Once upon a time here the landscape was interspersed with dense Mediterranean scrub but later the production of wine has contributed to modifying the appearance of the Maremma area in the province of Grosseto. The wine is guaranteed by the IGT brand, or Typical Geographical Indication, precisely to underline the strong territoriality of this product which expresses typically Tuscan characteristics.
