The Colonnello Barolo Bussia DOCG 2014 wine is born from the best vineyards located in Località Bussia di Monforte d'Alba, one of the best expressions of Barolo produced by the Poderi Aldo Conterno. The winery celebrates fifty years of activity in 2019, even if the founder Aldo has accumulated experience in the wine field practically all his life. Superb vineyards are grown in the clayey and calcareous hills, among which the Cru Colonnello certainly stands out, which gives its name to this important DOCG red. Barolo Colonnello Bussia comes from 100% Nebbiolo grapes in the Michet and Lampia varieties. Vinification takes place in steel tanks for 30 days, then the wine is racked several times before being aged in large Slavonian oak casks for 28 months: it is therefore a traditional Barolo, not aged in barrique. In the glass it is elegant, suave, albeit still powerfully tannic. It is fine and intense at the same time; it is persistent, extremely long and shows great aging potential for many years, if correctly stored in the cellar.
