Description
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Costasera from the Masi company was born in the Valpolicella wine district. The Costasera vineyards are located along the hills of the homonymous slope that looks towards Lake Garda. The soils are rich in limestone and fossil sediments which contribute to giving the wine structure. The climate is mitigated by the proximity of the body of water and the temperature ranges are optimal for the perfect ripening of the grapes. The harvest involves the manual harvesting of the grapes which, after careful selection, are placed in lofts for the withering to begin. This process favors the partial dehydration of the berries to favor the concentration of aromas, perfumes and sugars. Towards the beginning of February the grapes are ready for vinification. The pressing is followed by maceration and fermentation for 45-50 days. The next step is the maturation in wooden barrels for at least 3 years before bottling. Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is ready to express its best, but it can rest in the cellar for many years as it has good longevity.
