'Cragore' Etna Rosso DOC Contrada Montelaguardia Donnafugata 2019

Fragore Etna Rosso DOC Contrada Montelaguardia is an intense wine produced by the historic Sicilian winery Donnafugata . The label is obtained from the exclusive vinification of Nerello Mascalese grapes, a native variety grown on soils of volcanic origin and rich in minerals. Between the rows, the staff carries out rigorous work, aimed at preserving the local ecosystem. The meticulous attention to the care of the raw material is also found during the harvest with manual selection of the bunches. The vinification starts from the fermentation with maceration on the skins. This phase involves the use of steel tanks and lasts an average of 10 to 12 days. As far as aging is concerned, the company focuses on oak barriques at the second and third passage. Here the wine remains for a year and two months, acquiring more complex scents. Fragore Etna Rosso DOC Contrada Montelaguardia is a ready-to-drink wine, but capable of surprising even after 8-10 years of further evolution in the cellar.
