Vinopuro's advices

Glass
It is the perfect boblet for red wines with good structure and intensity; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is made possible by contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous dimensions of the chalice.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored.

Description

The Poggio Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG of the Castello di Monsanto company is produced with Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes from the historic vineyard of the same name, carefully selected to produce a wine with structure and longevity. The land, located at an altitude between 250 and 300 metres, is made up of sandstone and pure marl clay, a highly characterizing element for the Chianti Classico wines. Poggio Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is produced only in the best vintages. The harvest is carried out with the manual harvesting of the grapes in boxes, the subsequent vinification involves fermentation in steel and maceration on the skins for about 18/20 days. Maturation takes place partly in 500 liter French oak barrels and partly in 225 liter barriques, followed by bottling and final refinement. The wine is ready for tasting but, thanks to its longevity, it can also be left to rest in the cellar for a few years.
