Lagrein Riserva 'Praepositus' Alto Adige-Sudtirol DOC Novacella Abbey 2019

The Praepositus Lagrein Riserva from the Novacella Abbey, a winery located in Alto Adige, is an excellent red wine, belonging to the Top line called "Praepositus", which contains both high quality reds and whites. The Lagrein vines grow on silty-sandy and porphyritic soil of ancient alluvial origin and are carefully cultivated with the pergola training system. The growing area is at least 600 meters above sea level and benefits from warm days and cool nights. During the harvest, which takes place at the end of September, the bunches are selected with great care and only the best ones are chosen for the vinification, which takes place in steel containers after the initial phase of fermentation. The maturation phase follows, always inside steel and with the addition of natural yeasts. The last process is the aging in oak barrels for a period of about eight months. After bottling, the Praepositus Lagrein Riserva is placed on the market, ready to be uncorked and appreciated for its elegance and complexity.
