Lagrein South Tyrol DOC Griesbauerhof 2020

Lagrein Südtirol DOC is a pure and lively red, produced by the Griesbauerhof winery. The goal of the well-known South Tyrolean winery is the recovery and enhancement of the regional native vines and this wine is a clear example of this. For the blend, 100% Lagrein is used, a native black grape variety from Alto Adige, with remarkable longevity. It is raised half "pergola" and half with the "Guyot" system. The vineyards are between 20 and 30 years old and are located in the Rencio area, characterized by a soil rich in silt and sand which enhances its varietal complexity. The climate is mild, but subject to strong temperature variations which accentuate the natural acidity of the grapes. In the cellar, the aging takes place both in stainless steel barrels and in small oak barriques. Lagrein Südtirol DOC is characterized by a ready drink, but it can still evolve if stored correctly for a few years in the cellar.
