'Maurus Pinot Nero' Isonzo DOC Masut da Rive 2016

Maurus Pinot Nero Isonzo DOC is an elegant red wine, made by the Friulian Masut da Rive winery. It is obtained from the vinification of Pinot Noir grapes only, a particularly valuable international variety. On the pebbly substrates with a prevalence of iron and other minerals, the vines find an optimal environment for development, thanks in part also to the microclimate mitigated by the nearby Isonzo river. When the grapes reach the ideal level of ripeness, the manual harvest allows only the best bunches to be selected for transport to the cellar. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place inside small wooden barrels. The refinement is divided into two phases, the first of which takes place in oak barriques for a time between 12 and 18 months. The process ends with a one year rest in glass following bottling. Perfect immediately, Maurus Pinot Nero Isonzo DOC boasts a potential for further evolution that exceeds 5 years.
