'Opale' Vermentino di Sardegna DOC Mesa 2021

The Vermentino di Sardegna DOC Opale from the Mesa winery is a young wine, but one that has already made itself heard, establishing itself as one of the most appreciated in this area. The name of the winery, as declared by the founder Gavino Sanna himself, is a message of love towards his land and its traditions, Mesa in fact, in the Sardinian language means table, a place of conviviality, sharing and love. The vineyards of this winery extend for about 80 hectares in the Sant'Anna Arresi area in the Sulcis-Iglesiente region, on clayey and mineral soils. In this suggestive valley the grapes are sheltered from the mistral winds and the climate is made mild by the Mediterranean Sea. Vermentino di Sardegna DOC Opale is born precisely from Vermentino vines aged between twenty and thirty years. The grapes are briefly macerated before soft pressing and subsequent fermentation, then the wine is aged in oak barrels. The result is a ready-to-drink, elegant, soft and silky wine.
