'Senes' Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva DOC Argiolas 2019

Senes is the Cannonau di Sardegna DOC Riserva dedicated to the centenarians of the island, such as Antonio Argiolas, founder of the company, who died at the age of 104. Produced from old vineyards raised on the hills of Siurgus Donigala, in Trexenta, characterized by calcareous marl and exposed to the mistral winds, it is vinified in steel vats and aged in cement tanks - where the malolactic fermentation takes place - and in small casks of oak. Senes, with its great personality, its elegant austerity and its link to tradition, represents a structured alternative to the other great wine of the Argiolas winery, the Korem. The Senes shows in the glass a beautiful intense and impenetrable ruby red color, characterized by a lively purplish edge, which perfectly anticipates the character of this wine, and a great consistency. The nose reveals aromas of blackberry and plum jam, dried red flowers, and intense notes of tobacco, leather, pepper and strong spices, such as cloves. In the mouth Senes is an intense and persistent wine, with great structure and softness, and fine aromas; a wine whose balance improves with time, with the increase of the richness in polyalcohols and the sweetening of the tannins and freshness.
