Valpolicella DOC Valpantena Bertani 2022

Valpolicella DOC Bertani is a wine produced with red berried grapes. It is produced by the Bertani winery, famous for the production of high quality Amarone, on the Villa Novare estate located in the area with a great traditional wine-growing vocation of Valpolicella, in Veneto. Valpolicella DOC Bertani is a classic wine that forms the basis for more complex oenological processes such as Amarone for example and for this reason it has a great personality. It is obtained from 80% Corvina grapes grown according to the Veronese pergola system and 20% from Rondinella grapes. Both vineyards are trained with the Guyot system. The bunches are harvested by hand in the last 10 days of September and the vinification is done in the traditional way. The aging takes place in concrete tanks lined with glass tiles and lasts about a year. A curiosity: the Rondinella grape has an unknown origin and takes its name from the bluish-black color of the berries which resemble the feathers of a swallow.
