The annals report a very ancient date: it is 1687 when Pierre Tarlant began cultivating his vineyards in the village of Gland, in the Aisne district of Champagne. From those very distant beginnings, where Champagne was a sweet wine, the business has been handed down from generation to generation. Today we have a historic maison, but projected into the future. Even today, there is a Terland at the helm, in Euilly, and precisely Benoit, with a master's degree in OIV (International Wine Office), assisted by his sisters Mèlanie and Jean-Mary. The three share a very particular and fascinating vision in the way of making wine; they have therefore been able to establish themselves on the national and international scene also thanks to this aspect. The vineyard area is spread over 14 hectares and 4 different "crus" in the villages of Oeuilly, Boursault, St-Agnan and Celles-lès-Condé. The grapes used are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, but also Pinot Blanc and Petit Meslier which are used in small quantities, as per the regulations. The cultivation of the vineyards is very respectful of the surrounding environment and is mainly guided by nature itself, with the aim of safeguarding biodiversity. Tarlant's style is almost unique: we could mention the pressing techniques, the natural clarifications, the absence of malolactic fermentation or the almost completely absent "dosage", but in reality what emerges is the unique style and great elegance of every single wine, a very fine perlage, gratifying both to see and to taste, specifically designed to express Champagne nature in its purest form.
