The famous maison Perrier Jouet was born way back in 1811, in the heart of Champagne, the most famous wine region in the world, precisely in Epernay. It was the year in which Pierre-Nicolas Perrier married Adele Jouët and a partnership was born that became famous throughout the world. Production developed rapidly and also spread through real innovations: for example, Perrier-Jouët produced the first "brut" Champagne in history in 1854 (at the suggestion of his son Charles): it was therefore a very high dosage of sugar reduced. It is also the first maison to mention the vineyard and the year of harvest on the label, thus creating the concept of "Cru" and "vintage" champagne. Today in Epernay, we find the headquarters of the company called Maison Belle Epoque, which is the ancient home of the Perrier-Jouët family, which has now also become a magnificent luxury hotel with, inside, a precious collection of Art Nouveau works . Here are preserved the original drawings of what can be considered the most famous champagne label in the world, that is, that gold-edged anemone with white flowers, a work from 1902 by Émile Gallé, painter and master glassmaker, founder of the Art Nouveau in France. Thanks to the quality of its sparkling wines, Perrier-Jouët became a supplier to Queen Victoria, but also to the Court of Napoleon III and the royal families of Sweden and Belgium. Today the maison has 65 hectares of vineyards, almost entirely classified at the top of the Champagne Grand Cru scale. The fruits are then harvested in the five main crus of what is defined as the "magic triangle of Champagne" - made up of the localities of Cramant, Avize, Mailly, Aÿ and Dizy, and which, naturally, are present punctually in all those that are the house's cuvées. From the "Grand Brut" to the "Blason Rosé", up to the very famous vintage "Belle Epoque", producing Champagnes punctually characterized by a refined, intense and refined style, the maison offers a range of labels with unmistakable characteristics, characterized by a broad aromatic persistence and elegant.
