Trebbiano

Trebbiano is the most cultivated white grape variety in Italy; it is very versatile and is suitable both for massive cultivations, for the production of commercial wines, and for niche and very high quality productions. Its enormous diffusion is due to the ability to adapt to the most diverse types of soil and climatic conditions, to the great productivity and to the characteristics of the resulting wine, generally pleasant, correct and easily marketable. Trebbiano grapes often give life to very delicate and not very persistent wines, although Trebbiano wine can change significantly depending on the terroir: in Abruzzo, for example, it reaches its maximum expressiveness, giving particularly complex and structured wines. The areas where it thrives most are the central regions of Italy, and therefore we find different variations including Trebbiano Romagnolo, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano Spoletino, Giallo grown in Lazio and Toscano, also used for the famous Vin Santo .
