A company history that begins in the seventies with around twenty hectares of vineyards located among the hills north-east of the small town of Campobello di Licata , in the Agrigento area. A family-run business, built by passionate winemakers. Giuseppina Milazzo, her husband Saverio Lo Leggio and their son Giuseppe, all raised in the company, have now been at the helm of the winery for over eleven years.
Today the vineyards extend for 97 hectares, out of a total of 149, located on a hilly area at around 400 meters above sea level and 20 km from the sea, in an area called Terre della Baronia , which is characterized by a significant variety of soils, a which correspond to equally varied microclimatic conditions.
The Terre della Baronia are made up of 8 districts, divided into different sub-areas, for a perfect combination of vineyard, variety and product.
A focus on the native Sicilians, the selected vines are Nero d'Avola, Nero Cappuccio and Perricone for the reds; Inzolia and Catarratto Lucido for whites; to which are added some selected international varieties from Chardonnay to Sauvignon Blanc, Viogner and Pinot Noir.
A pioneer in the introduction of organic agriculture, she began this journey in the mid-80s.
She was the first to experiment with sparkling wine production in Sicily.
The philosophy that guides the company has always been that of artisanal viticulture based on knowledge of the land, the vine, manual processing and creativity in interpreting these elements, together with the ability to exploit the best characteristics of the climate and soil.
A Palmares with over 450 awards in the main international wine competitions, with a significant attribution of gold medals assigned to the entire range of wines produced.
