Lake Caldaro Classico Superiore South Tyrol DOC Tramin 2022

The Alto Adige Lago di Caldaro DOC is a terroir wine of considerable interest. This red is produced by the famous Tramin wine cooperative, which with the utmost respect for the tradition of Südtirol, confirms itself as a true standard-bearer of local oenology. A label that has obtained important national and international awards, including the "three hearts" of the German guide Merum. This red takes shape from the pure vinification of schiava grapes, the fruit of vines, grown in the countryside of the municipality of Termeno on calcareous soils rich in clays and gravels, where they enjoy strong temperature variations. The Alto Adige Lago di Caldaro DOC takes shape from a careful harvest, at the end of which the grapes are transferred to the cellar to be destemmed. The fermentation process in steel follows. The finished product is a light red with a rather low tannic content. A fresh wine with a soft sip, for an elegant label with an aging capacity of 2 or 3 years at most. Delicacy and elegance in perfect combination with cold cuts, soups and the famous local dumplings.
