Massimo Alessandri

Massimo Alessandri
Information
Region: Liguria (Italian wines)
Address: Via Costa Parrocchia, 42, 18020 Ranzo IM

The wine history of Massimo Alessandri's winery began more than twenty years ago in the heart of Liguria. It was 1996 and within the Alessandri farm, it was decided to dedicate half of the land, around 6 hectares, to viticulture. In its recent history, this winery has been able to gradually make its way and establish itself first in the Ligurian and then national territory, making itself appreciated above all for the production of Pigato grapes but not only; Syrah and Grenache grapes also give very interesting results. The lands of the Massimo Alessandri winery are located in the province of Imperia, more precisely on the inland hills, in the locality of Costa Parrocchia, in the municipality of Ranzo. The vineyards are cultivated with the Guyot method and are located on the typical terraced hills of Liguria, between 280 and 400 meters above sea level. For centuries, this area of Italy has been known for the cultivation of vineyards between the mountains and the sea, favored by the mild climate, with many days of extremely precious sunshine. Furthermore, the composition of the soil, calcareous-clayey, is able to provide the grapes with all the nutrients and minerals they need. On this basis, Massimo Alessandri works and produces wines of excellent quality, naturally in limited quantities, given the morphological difficulties that the soils of the Ligurian hinterland offer even to the most daring and courageous winemakers.
