Château Raymond-Lafon

The Raymond-Lafon winery is located in the southern part of the Bordeaux wine region, in the Graves district, a few kilometers north of the highest-rated vineyard of Château d'Yquem, so to speak..., but remains, for geographical reasons, outside from the Sauternes denomination. In 1972 the company was purchased by Pierre Meslier, former technical director of Château d'Yquem and, naturally, he applied the winemaking techniques he used in one of the largest wineries in the world, Yquem, in fact. The results did not take long to arrive and the success of the wines was sensational. The vineyard area currently extends for 18 hectares. The distribution of the grapes is 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The average annual production is around 20,000 bottles. Wines to absolutely try!
