The history of Volpaia Castle is truly ancient: the structure was born around the year 1000 and, as you can well imagine, in recent centuries it has seen an alternation of roles and owners. We are in the heart of Chianti Classico and therefore, for several decades, Castello di Volpaia has been an important wine-growing reality. Managed by the Mascheroni Stianti family, we have reached the third generation with Nicolò and Federica who lead the village of Volpaia with competence and passion, which, as per historical tradition, lives on an intense production of wine, oil and vinegar. The castle is a real medieval village, so the cellars, the processing and aging places, intersect with networks of tunnels and underground rooms that involve the entire village. Over the years the name Volpaia has made its way among the elite of Tuscan wine production: the company, also highly appreciated abroad, produces elegant and complex wines, rooted in the territory, which express great love and rigorous attention for nature. The work in the vineyard and in the cellar, in fact, is carried out exclusively through the organic certification protocols. Between the rows, great attention and care is given to the growth of the vine which represents the crucial moment for the production of quality wines. In the cellar, the winemaking is traditional, but is carried out with the aid of modern technologies and equipment designed to enhance and enhance everything that each harvest is able to offer. This is how simply excellent labels are born: from "Coltassala" to "Bianco di Volpaia", from "Citto" to "Indue", reaching the Spumanti up to the Vin Santo: they are all wines, those of the Castello di Volpaia, capable of telling the territory, but above all the passion and love for these ancient lands.
