Alessandro Job lived and worked in Milan together with his wife Lavinia and they both carried out a qualified and prestigious profession, but at a certain moment they chose a completely different path of life and work: when Alessandro inherited Villa Job from his grandfather, a small farmhouse with cellar annexed and only 6.5 hectares of property, in Friuli, they immediately had a very precise idea regarding the production of wine: to free themselves from every commercial aspect and produce wines according to nature, with a very green approach, but not to fashion, out of conviction. We are in the Grave area, often and wrongly, an area poorly considered from a winemaking point of view; in reality the potential is very high and Jobs can sense it. Interventions in the vineyard and cellar are therefore reduced, certified organic agriculture is applied with practices borrowed from biodynamic agriculture, recycling and anti-waste paths are sought and applied. The surrounding area is already in itself a concentration of biodiversity, Alessandro and Lavinia's philosophy wants to respect and encourage this concept. The processes are therefore all done manually and even the individual young plants themselves are not purchased in nurseries, but "produced" on their own. Here the grapes are left to ferment spontaneously, using only the yeasts naturally present on the skins, in open conical trunks, without temperature control and with cooling carried out with well water. The wine is touched as little as possible, patiently waited and cared for in the silence of the cellar, with the aim of collecting, at the right time, all of its personality. This deep connection with the territory, local traditions and the desire to implement natural cycles, instead of exploiting them, is truly perceptible in every glass, with a true trademark.
