Travaglini Giancarlo

The founder of this historic Piedmontese winery is called Clemente and, in the 1920s, he began making grapes from his small vineyards. Subsequently, it was Clemente Travaglini who fully understood the wine potential of this area, establishing the first winery in the center of the city of Gattinara. This passion and this will have contributed, over time, to the oenological development of the territory and of Gattinara wine, a commitment that has continued through subsequent generations. We are in 1958 when Giancarlo Travaglini inherits the company and the passion from his father Arturo. This is the year of transformation, not only within the Travaglini winery, but also from an agronomic and oenological point of view, thanks to the completely pioneering research to improve the viticulture methods and therefore the final quality of the wine. 1958 is also the year in which Giancarlo designed and patented the famous Travaglini bottle, also known as the "crooked bottle". Thus began an intense commercial and communication activity: participation in the first national and international fairs, the first recognitions and prizes which serve as a stimulus to the profound renewal work that Giancarlo implements in the cellar, and beyond. During this period, his daughter Cinzia also approached the business and received her father's suggestions and enthusiasm in running the company. And 2 historic labels were also created for the cellar, namely Gattinara Tre Vigne and Il Sogno, still in production today. We arrive at the fourth generation, made up of Cinzia Travaglini and Massimo Collauto, who have kept Giancarlo's tradition alive since 2004, working firmly on the solid foundations built by previous generations, engaging in research and innovation. Investments and expansions continue, in parallel both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Since 2019, the fifth generation also joins the company. Today Cinzia, Massimo, Alessia and Carolina lead the company, proudly bringing the Travaglini name to the world.
