The Benito Ferrara company begins its modern history towards the 1950s, although its origins can be dated back to the beginning of the 20th century; it is Benito himself who, thanks to his innovative mentality, starts the construction of his own cellar, in order to produce and bottle quality wine with his own label; in fact, on the contrary, it was the custom of the time among winemakers to produce grapes which were then resold to cooperative wineries or to large wine industries. We are in the territories of the municipality of Tufo, in the province of Avellino, with vineyards located exactly in the hamlet of San Paolo, but also in the municipality of Montemiletto: the winery is in fact located in an area which, by tradition, is highly suited to the cultivation of varieties of Greco di Tufo and Aglianico. By cultivating its own vineyards at an altitude ranging between 450 and 600 meters above sea level, the finesse and elegance of the wines is expressed at the highest levels. Today the management of the company is entrusted to Benito's daughter, Gabriella Ferrara, who, with the help of her husband Sergio and continuing to follow in her father's footsteps, has managed to achieve decidedly high quality levels, supported by prizes and recognitions that place the company among the most representative of the Campania region. In the vineyard, agronomic management is conventional, but the use of synthetic substances is limited and very careful, always reduced to the bare minimum. In the cellar, each step is aimed at enhancing and enhancing the intrinsic characteristics of each grape variety combined with its own terroir: this is why the wines correspond so well to the territory and its history. The cellar offers a portfolio of excellent labels, starting from the highly celebrated Greco di Tufo "Vigna Cicogna", then arriving at the Aglianico "Quattro Confini", passing through the Fiano di Avellino. Truly excellent and exciting wines.
