Vigne Marina Coppi

The Vigna Marina Coppi winery is a small company that was born in the early 2000s in a place that exudes history and tradition. This is Castellania, the small hill town in the Alessandria area, where Fausto Coppi, the great cyclist, was born in 1919, the son of farmers. Many years later his nephew Francesco felt a strong pull for that land and, starting from scratch, created a small cellar with the aim of valorising the native vine par excellence of these areas, Timorasso. The vineyard area is just a few hectares and allows the direct cultivation of the grapes, essentially aiming for quality. Timorasso, with its history rooted in these lands since the dawn of time, is the white grape variety that most represents this corner of Piedmont and Barbera has also always been present in the Tortona area. Francesco has the support of his wife Anna, mother of their three daughters, who has been present since the first harvest in 2005 and shares the management of the company with him. Francesco's parents, Giovanni and Marina, have always contributed at work and beyond, thanks to that component of greater wisdom and life experience. The production can certainly be defined as "artisanal" and is around 25,000 bottles a year. This allows us to directly and with extreme care follow every phase of the cellar work, to obtain wines that express the personality of man and the strength of the land. Behind every bottle of wine produced by Vigna Marina Coppi there is an emotional story, made of sacrifices, hopes, passion and love for this land and for one's family. Every time you open a bottle of timorasso or barbera you can feel the presence of grandfather Fausto and you can remember all the exciting stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. The Vigna Marina Coppi winery is therefore much more than just a place of wine production. It is a real treasure of history and tradition, which transmits emotions and memories with every sip. And this is precisely what makes the wines of this cellar so special and unique.
