The history of the Paolo Saracco winery began at the beginning of the century, thanks to the courage of Paolo's great-grandfather, who at the beginning of the century purchased a farmhouse in Castiglione Tinella, starting to produce Moscato and selling it in bulk, as was the custom then, to companies that they produced vermouth. Here we want to underline the intuition: the territory of Castiglione Tinella will become, over the years, the most suitable heart of the production of Moscato d'Asti. This wine activity, let's say rather against the current customs of the time, was then continued by Paolo's father who, having joined the company in 1984, decided to produce and market his own labels, focusing on the quality of the wine he does best: Moscato , precisely. The first Moscato d'Asti bottled by Paolo Saracco dates back to 1988. Paolo's specialization is inexorable and gradually becomes his obsession: from the '80s until today, harvest after harvest, Saracco has built considerable experience on the vine and has become increasingly famous as a producer of quality Moscato: its wine undoubtedly expresses the best characteristics of the terroir of origin. His research and experimentation in the vineyard and in the cellar are obsessive. Every year Paolo purchases new land and vineyards with the best and most diverse exposures, with the aim of producing grapes of the highest quality and consequently Moscato d'Asti of the highest quality, considering the fact that the vine and the wine of the same name have never enjoyed highly regarded neither by critics nor by the public. Instead, in these areas, the soil is composed of sand, limestone and silt; perfect conditions which, combined with the rather high altitude, allow Moscato to develop the best aromatic components. Truly noteworthy is his "Autumn Moscato", capable of expressing a unique, truly rich and complex aroma. A winery, in short, that has made and is making the history of Moscato d'Asti in Italy and in the world.
