'Perricone Del Core' Sicily DOC Feudo Montoni 2020

Perricone Del Core Sicilia DOC is a red wine produced by the Feudo Montoni winery, dedicated to enhancing rare local varieties. This is the case with this label, which is obtained from the single-variety vinification of Perricone grapes, an autochthonous dark grape variety. The plots of property are located on mountain slopes, where the soil is mainly composed of clay and sand. The sapling cultivation method is in line with the Sicilian tradition and allows the vines to grow healthy and luxuriant until the best bunches are harvested by hand. Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes undergo a long spontaneous fermentation with maceration on the skins. The refinement is divided into two distinct phases, the first of which involves a passage in oak barrels which lasts 8 months, while the second a rest in the bottle for 4 months. Excellent immediately, Perricone Del Core Sicilia DOC can pleasantly surprise even after 3-4 years.
