Glass
It is the perfect glass for structured, intense, aged red wines or potentially suitable for refinement; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is possible by the prolonged contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous cup size.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years.

Description

Among the labels of the Terrazze dell'Etna winery there is also the Sicilia Rosso IGT Cratere which comes from the assembly of a typically local vine such as Nerello Mascalese (80%) with a more "international" one such as Petit Verdot, at 20% . The reference territory is located near Catania, at about 600-800 m above sea level, where the terroir of volcanic origin gives the grapes sapidity, character and taste. Species typical of this region are grown here such as Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, but also non-native species such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Petit Verdot which have found the ideal conditions for their development. In Sicilia Rosso IGT Cratere, the elegance of Nerello Mascalese marries perfectly with the freshness of Petit Verdot. After the traditional harvest, the grapes are macerated in steel and then aged first in wood for 12 months and then in the bottle for another two years. The Cratere di Terrazze dell'Etna is a warm and full-bodied red wine, capable of summarizing and expressing the personality and power of the great Sicilian volcano. The Cratere di Terrazze dell'Etna is offered by emanating warm and floral aromas, with intense notes of ripe red fruit, dried flowers and spicy and balsamic scents. On the palate it is full-bodied, dynamic and elegant, with clear and clean aromatic returns and a long, constant and well-balanced finish.
