'Am Sand' Gewurztraminer Mitterberg IGT Alois Lageder 2021

With its truly unique sensory nuances, Am Sand Gewurztraminer Mitterberg IGT is an excellence produced by the Alois Lageder winery. It is obtained from the single-variety vinification of gewurztraminer grapes, a vine that is expressed at very high quality levels in the area between Magrè and Termeno. The vineyards owned by the company rise at an average altitude of 300 meters above sea level and rest on gravelly and calcareous soils, with a good percentage of sand. To preserve the varietal notes of this aromatic grape, human intervention in the vineyard is very respectful and is inspired by organic and biodynamic principles. Once carefully harvested, the bunches are transported to the cellar, where a soft pressing of the grapes begins. The following phases include spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging on the lees for six months, again in steel. Consequently, Am Sand Gewurztraminer Mitterberg IGT is a white wine with a marked minerality and a very intense aroma.
