Tenuta Fanti has been owned by the Fanti family since the early nineteenth century and since then it has always passionately produced wine, oil and cereals with the typical qualities that the Montalcino area is able to give to its products. About fifty years ago many vineyards were replanted and a white grape crop was introduced for the first time, together with some native vines. The estate has two particular vineyards (real Cru) from which the famous Brunello di Montalcino docg is produced: the first is the one located in the "Macchiarelle" area, while the second is located in the "Vallocchio" area. The "Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva" is produced from the Sangiovese Grosso grapes of the 2.5 hectares of "Macchiarelle"; this is the area where the oldest vineyard of the estate is located and a combination of factors such as the age of the vine (early 70s), a south-southeast exposure and substantially poor soil, allow the wine to have a particular structure that allows the wine to have a character and complexity that make the "Riserva" a true excellence. Tenuta Fanti has two other reds in its cellars: the first is the "Rosso di Montalcino DOCG", prepared exclusively with Sangiovese grapes (mixed Grosso and Piccolo) with vines that have an extension of approximately 10 hectares, while for the second, the "Sassomagno Sant'Antimo Rosso DOC" uses all the grapes from the remaining 21 hectares of the estate; these vines are aged between 7 and 15 years and are both Sangiovese Piccolo and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. A complete range that reflects and respects the territory, in its entirety: objective achieved!
