Château Malartic-Lagravière, originally called Domaine de Lagravière, is a Bordeaux winery from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, included among the Crus Classés for red and white wine in the Graves Wine Classification of 1953 and 1959. The cellar and vineyards are located south of the city of Bordeaux, in the municipality of Léognan. The estate has been in the Bonnie family since 1997, with renowned winemakers Michel Rolland and Athanase Fakorellis serving as consultants. Protected by the pine forests of the Landes, the vineyards of Château Malartic-Lagravière are located mainly on the Graves, dominated by gravelly soil mixed with sand and clay. A very permeable soil, optimal sunshine and reduced sensitivity to climatic variations, which are all very favorable factors for the cultivation of vines. From a property of 47 hectares, the vineyard area is made up of 41 hectares of red grape varieties, whose wine produced is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot; the remaining 6 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of white grapes, the resulting wine being 80% Sauvignon blanc and 20% Sémillon. Château Malartic-Lagravière produces very few bottles every year: 16,000 bottles of red wine and 2,500 of dry white. Truly particular wines of surprising elegance and finesse.
