The products of Sasso Dei Lupi tell a story that began in 1959, when the winemakers of Umbria joined together in a cooperative with the aim of producing high quality wines. At the beginning, bottled wines were not yet produced. The popularity of the cooperative was associated with the possibility of purchasing bulk wines to drink every day. Over the decades, however, thanks to studies, commitment and passion, we began to think about innovating the vine breeding techniques and the winemaking method. The results didn't take long to arrive. Therefore, it can be said that Sasso Dei Lupi is the synthesis of a project born with the name of Cantina Sociale Colli Perugini, operating in the wine district of Marsciano, and happily landed in the world of quality wines. The winery, thanks to its decades of experience, has managed to face the historical-economic changes that have occurred in recent years, presenting itself to the world in a new guise. The company philosophy is based on full respect for tradition associated with the use of new production technologies. A staff of technicians, including oenologists and agronomists, are always moving between the rows in order to align the quality level of the members' vineyards. The native vines were accompanied by international varieties such as Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot grigio and Chardonnay. The production line runs through 4 product bands, depending on the vines used. The Top line includes Luno, produced with Grechetto, a vine of Greek origin, as suggested by the name, full of aromas and pigments that give a full-bodied and structured wine. The Territory line, however, includes wines produced with international varieties of the caliber of Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, demonstrating that these vines have found, in Umbria, the ideal terroir for good vigor. The assortment does not lack sweet wines obtained by drying grapes with a high sugar content on racks.
