In 1973 Mauro Molino graduated from the Oenological School of Alba and began to develop his great dream: producing wines in his homeland. But it was only in 1979, following the death of his father Giuseppe, that Mauro saw on this occasion, the legacy of some vineyards, the great opportunity to get started in oenology in his native land. He dedicated himself to an initial renovation of the vineyards and the cellar which was built in Annunziata di La Morra where his father's house is located. In 1982 he produced his first Barolo, that of Vigneto Conca. From here the real winemaking adventure begins, full of great satisfaction. Mauro will increasingly understand the fortune of being able to work in a unique area in the world, that of Barolo. Today Mauro is still the living spirit of this historic reality: important decisions still pass from him despite his advancing age. Today it is time to leave the helm to the children, Matteo and Martina, investing in their stay in the company, the past of the cellar which has been transformed into the present. Matteo has followed in his father's footsteps, and is a winemaker, but naturally with a more modern look, in line with the principles of environmental sustainability that are considered necessary today. Martina also graduated from the same school and joined the family professionally, personally taking care of communications and sales. There are currently 14 hectares of property, divided between the Conca vineyard, the first label produced and still today the place to which the Molino family is most emotionally linked, and then Bricco Luciani, La Serra and Gallinotto. Each Barolo signed by Molino is appreciated for its rigor and elegance, continuity with tradition and aptitude for aging over time, revealing a gentle and gruff soul at the same time. Molino wines are characterized by elegant and intense, complex and fine aromas, that is, what actually reflects the very suitable territory of La Morra.
