This historic reality (an estate that previously belonged to the Agnelli family ) is part of the Unipol Group and, together with prestigious wineries that produce Brunello di Montalcino , Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Chianti , represents one of the most important private groups in the production of wine and beyond ( ex Saiagricola ): the goal has always been to combine numbers and quality. A group in which agriculture is understood in its noblest sense and which manages to qualify each winery, discovering and enhancing its intrinsic and peculiar characteristics. Few companies in the national agricultural panorama can boast almost 5000 hectares of land owned in three different regions, located in some of the most prestigious wine areas. Fattoria del Cerro, founded in 1978, is the largest private company in the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, having vineyards that extend for approximately 180 hectares in the surrounding area. Approximately half of the production is dedicated to Sangiovese, while the remaining part sees the production of excellent Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Trebbiano and Malvasia which make up the numerous labels present in the company portfolio. The philosophy that inspires the group is unquestionably oriented towards quality and for this reason every choice translates into meticulous care of the vineyard, with the aim of pursuing the lowest environmental impact, preserving and enhancing, at the same time, the territory. The same care and passion is also applied in the cellar and, despite the large size of the estate, all cellar steps take place with the utmost respect for the grapes through the supervision of the oenologist Raffaele Pistucchia and with the advice of Riccardo Cotarella , one of the most famous and valid Italian winemakers. Wines strongly representative of the Tuscan tradition, but also of the terroir in which they are protagonists: elegance, longevity, finesse and great balance, essential characteristics, recognized by the numerous national and international awards achieved.
