We are in one of the oldest wine production areas in Europe: we are in Hungary and precisely in the Tokaji region. Château Imperial Tokaj has very solid and distant roots in time: the first evidence relating to the cultivation of vines in these parts dates back to the beginning of the 1500s when the Garai family began to cultivate the first vineyard in the area, using local grapes, namely Furmint and Hárslevelü, effectively starting the production of a wine that would become truly famous, undoubtedly among the most renowned and famous sweet wines in the world, Tokaji, in fact. Today the estate has 55 hectares, mainly planted with Furmint, with very favorable exposures to the south, on the southern slopes of Mount Tokaj, where the special microclimate, the soil composed mainly of loess, a very fine aeolian sediment, very precious for the cultivation of grapes, and the "noble molds" give the wines truly unique harmony, complexity and gustatory characteristics. The vineyards are all cultivated respecting the rhythms of nature, so much so that organic farming procedures have recently been introduced and adopted, complete with certification. The wines of the Chateau Imperial Tokaj estate are truly consistent with the elegant and balanced style of the wines of this region. Since 2009 Chateau Imperial Tokaj has belonged to the French group Domaines Reybier. But the company's philosophy remains firm in managing the vineyards and wines with the utmost care, supporting nature, thus creating wines that respect traditions, the territory and nature.
