Canalicchio di Sopra

The Canalicchio di Sopra winery is a winery located in the Tuscany region, in Montalcino. The history of the winery dates back to 1962, when Pacenti first decided to purchase the first hectares in the Canalicchio di Sopra area. We are at the dawn of the history of Brunello. In the following years, the family began producing their own Brunello di Montalcino wine, strictly following the traditional principles of winemaking. The winery has grown steadily over the years, thanks to the acquisition of new vineyards and the implementation of new technologies for wine production. Today the Canalicchio di Sopra winery produces several high quality wines, including Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Igt Toscana. Production is now managed by the grandchildren, who have maintained the tradition of Brunello di Montalcino and have obtained numerous awards for the quality of their products. The Canalicchio di Sopra winery is located in a privileged position, on a hill approximately 350 meters above sea level, surrounded by Sangiovese vineyards. The estate covers an area of approximately 20 hectares, of which approximately 18 hectares are intended for the cultivation of vines. The cellar has modern facilities for winemaking and aging wine, but always respects the tradition and philosophy of the Pacenti family. The Canalicchio di Sopra winery today represents one of the best examples of Brunello di Montalcino wine production, thanks to its history, the quality of its products and the family's passion for wine.
