Ernesto Dellapiana, a young entrepreneur graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Commerce and owner of an industry operating in the paper converting sector, attracted by the irresistible charm of his native land, decides to return to Treiso, home of Barbaresco, where the roots of his family and the farms of the nineteenth century await him and welcome him with open arms and where, together with his wife Lia, in 1974, he embarks on the path of viticulture without knowing that, shortly thereafter, he would find himself managing a reality comprising 35 hectares of vineyards and 80,000 bottles produced annually. Over the years, Ernesto and Lia have also been supported by their children Enrico and Jole, the former involved in managing the winemaking aspect, while the latter is responsible for the commercial and management part. Having plots located in some of the best places in the Barbaresco denomination, the company sees the main and largest part of its vineyards located around the cellar rooms, while other rows extend into neighboring areas. Attention and respect for the environment and the ecosystem is maximum and priority; in the vineyard, the plants are followed rigorously and carefully with compost and manure for fertilization, while the classic and traditional treatments with copper and sulfur are used for parasites. Obviously, in the cellar we follow the same philosophy and ethics to best enhance everything that the territory and the vintage have been able to express. Lots of Barbaresco and Nebbiolo, but also Barbera, Dolcetto, the typical and most famous wines of the Langa. The philosophy of the Rizzi winery is clear and the objective, since its origins, has always been to bring out in the wines what the season and the territory have been capable of expressing in the fruit. Excellent wines come to life from all this: a range of labels that over the years has stood out for its consistency, reliability and quality.
