Carlo Vietti founded the company at the end of the 19th century and his son Mario, in 1919, began producing the first Vietti wines, selling most of the production in Italy.

The history of the last 40 years has been marked by the choices of Alfredo Currado, Mario's son-in-law and winemaker since 1952, and his wife Luciana Vietti who are committed to strengthening the image not only of the family company, but of the Barolo area. Alfredo was the first to select and vinify grapes from single vineyards, a radical concept at the time, but today applied by almost all companies that produce Barolo and Barbaresco. Thus the first Vietti crus, Barolo Rocche and Barbaresco Masseria were born in 1961. Nicknamed the " father of Arneis ", in 1967 he was the first to rediscover this almost disappeared variety by vinifying it in purity. Today Arneis is the most famous white wine in the Alba area.

Vietti is today considered one of the most authoritative exponents in the varied wine world of the Langhe.
