Falkenstein

The renowned Falkenstein winery, owned by the Pratzner family for 400 years, is located above Naturns, in Val Venosta, close to the "Sonnenberg" mountain. In 1995 the current owner Franz Pratzner decided to produce and market his wines in own.

The vines are located in a sunny area, with warm days and cool nights, which lends itself perfectly to the cultivation of the Pinot Blanc, Sauvignogn and Gewürztraminer varieties. Above all, the Riesling from Falkenstein is considered one of the best in southern Germany. The whites are complemented by an excellent Pinot Noir.

Overall today Franz Pratzner produces around 60,000 bottles a year. Furthermore, single-variety grappas and fruit distillates are distilled. The award-winning Falkenstein wines and spirits can also be tasted in the adjoining restaurant, in front of a splendid panorama. A true South Tyrolean excellence.
