It all began with a nickname, " Braida " , which his great-grandfather Giuseppe Bologna earned in squares and churchyards by playing elastic ball on Sundays, a typical Piedmontese sport. Giacomo Bologna inherited the vineyard and nickname from his father, but above all the unconditional love for the land and for wine. From 1961 to today, the Braida company has been the expanded and faithful image of Giacomo and Anna's philosophy, of their way of understanding life, the land, wine and relationships with friends. Raffaella and Giuseppe Bologna, both winemakers, constitute the third "Braida" generation and are united by the first dream, reality today, cultivated with enthusiasm, of making Barbera continue to achieve the status of nobility and quality, which for some would seem to be reserved only to vines of more xenophilic lineage. Today Giacomo Bologna is considered throughout the world as the father of quality Barbera. The Braida vineyards extend for 56 hectares near Asti, in Rocchetta Tanaro, and host not only Barbera vines, but also Moscato, Brachetto, Grignolino, Chardonnay and others. The result is a range of wines of absolute prestige and very high quality standards . A varied and heterogeneous range of wines and labels which, in their diversity, testify to a great love for quality wine.
