Cianfagna

We are in Molise, beautiful landscapes, still little-known territories, but with a great wine-growing vocation. The Cianfagna family has been cultivating the lands of the agricultural estate since 1860, but the winery was officially founded in 1999. The company's project was clear right from the start: to enhance the territory, because it is absolutely worth it, and its wines, naturally, with expressions of the highest quality, especially in relation to native vines. And this is also why the path of organic agriculture was chosen, an ethical choice to bring healthy wines to the table and to preserve, at the same time, the landscape for future generations. The estate is located in Acquaviva Collecroce, in the province of Campobasso, in a splendid hilly area just 30 kilometers from the sea, which benefits greatly from it. The clayey soils, the Mediterranean climate, ventilated, with good temperature variations, constitute a perfect environment for the cultivation of vines. In particular Tintilia, an ancient native red grape variety that is giving great satisfaction. In the vineyard, grape yields per single plant are kept low to favor quality; the vineyards are clearly cultivated with very few synthetic treatments, only sulfur and copper based. In the cellar, after a manual harvest, only carefully selected bunches arrive, healthy and at the perfect level of ripeness, so as to be able to make wine according to the ancient tradition, with minimal human intervention and respectful of the regulations of organic agriculture. Real wines are born in which truly reflect the territory and traditions, but are made with such care and passion that they are exciting. Great intensity, balance, richness and ease of drinking (one of the absolute best qualities of a wine): these are the wines of Cianfagna.
