I Clivi

The Cantina I Clivi is a winery located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, precisely in the municipality of Corno di Rosazzo. Its history began in the 1990s, when Ferdinando Zanusso, returning from work experiences in Africa, purchased an old farmhouse with adjoining vineyard land. With the purchase of the property in Corno di Rosazzo, he decided to start an ambitious project: producing natural, high-quality wines that best expressed the territory and the native grapes. It is Mario, the son, together with his father who had the intuition to recover the abandoned vines and plant new ones, using only native clones and working the land organically. The work in the cellar, however, was based on respect for nature: spontaneous fermentations, no use of selected yeasts or chemical additives, use of wooden and cement barrels for refinement. The Clivi have always focused on the production of white wines, starting from native grapes such as Tocai Friulano, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla which best represent the style of the winery: fresh, mineral, savory, with a bouquet of fruit and white flowers. In the following years, I Clivi expanded their production, including other wines with international grapes such as cabernet. Today I Clivi is one of the reference wineries for natural and quality wines from Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Zanusso family was one of the first producers to believe in the potential of this territory, demonstrating that it is possible to produce high quality wines while respecting nature and the territory.
