'Angheli' Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Sicilia DOC Donnafugata 2019

Angheli Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Sicilia DOC is a soft and fragrant red wine, made by the renowned Donnafugata winery. Inspired by the classic Bordeaux blend, this label is the result of a balanced blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, two international vines that achieve excellent results on the island terroir. The plots are located near Casale Bianco, in a very suitable area of south-western Sicily. The harvest takes place gradually according to the variety: in August the bunches of Merlot are selected and in September those of Cabernet Sauvignon. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in the cellar, which lasts about two weeks. The wine remains for one year in oak barrels, to then rest for another two years in glass after bottling. Angheli Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Sicilia DOC can be appreciated immediately, as well as following a further evolution of 5-6 years.
