'Ferrata' Veneto Chardonnay IGT Maculan 2021

Veneto Chardonnay IGT Ferrata is a label signed by the renowned Maculan winery, one of the best and most innovative interpreters of Venetian enology. This white wine is obtained from the single-variety vinification of Chardonnay grapes, an "international" vine that reaches remarkable qualitative peaks in the Maculan estates. The land on which the vineyards are located has a strong tufa component, which gives this wine a remarkable character. The grapes are cold macerated for a couple of days and then left to ferment in first passage barriques. Then follows a further stop in barrique on the lees for a period of five months during which the wine takes on a remarkable softness and all the hints of ripe fruit typical of the vine are enhanced. It is left to mature for a further twelve months directly in the bottle. Ideal for a fish dinner, Veneto Chardonnay IGT Ferrata is perfect when young, but can rest in the cellar for up to 5 years, improving over time.
