Caparzo

Over forty years have passed since the first rows of vineyards and the first cellar experiences of the Caparzo winery. In this time, this reality has grown greatly respecting the tradition of Brunello and the different terroirs of the area. The Caparzo vineyards occupy approximately 90 hectares in the municipality of Montalcino, a truly remarkable extension. The winemaking cellar, with stainless steel tanks, is equipped with the most advanced winemaking equipment. The refinement of the wines is carried out in a cellar equipped with traditional Slavonian oak barrels of various sizes.
Founded in 1970, the Caparzo company represents one of the 12 historic wineries of Montalcino and is among those that have contributed most to the creation of the myth of Brunello. Purchased in 1998 by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, the company has since undergone a radical transformation which has led it, over time, to equip itself with a new aging cellar completely underground. The classic local vines are grown on the estate: the native Sangiovese, Moscadello and the international Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot. The Sangiovese Grosso, dedicated to the production of Brunello, was planted in various plots of the estate, choosing the areas most suitable for the vine. The possibility of being able to count on grapes coming from different areas of the estate, characterized by different microclimates and soils, allows us to have harmonious and balanced wines every year. Precisely for this reason, Caparzo wines have been adopted by the most famous restaurants in the world, served at international meetings and official state dinners.
