Zavalloni

Zavalloni is a historic winery on the hills of Cesena, where the winemaking tradition has been perpetuated for centuries. Stefano Zavalloni represents the sixth generation of this historic family of winemakers motivated by a deep and rooted love for these lands and naturally for wine, starting from the mid-nineteenth century. With the new generations, the winery aims to enhance the local indigenous varieties, such as Sangiovese and Albana. The estate is made up of 16 hectares of vineyards, cultivated according to the principles of integrated pest management, a sign of a profound spiritual but also practical closeness with the environment. The presence of the nearby Adriatic Sea has a decidedly positive influence on the ripening of the grapes, through constant ventilation and beneficial thermal regulation, while the soils are medium-textured, tending towards clayey, all perfect elements for obtaining quality wines . The Zavalloni philosophy is a capable blend of traditions and innovations, which today finds the ideal combination with modern agronomic techniques in the vineyard and oenological techniques in the cellar. The range of wines focuses on the absolute protagonist of local viticulture, namely Sangiovese, as regards the reds, while for the white wines Albana stands out, a vine often poorly considered and mistreated and which today, with due attention, produces wines truly remarkable. The most significant labels, of notable quality level, are the Romagna Albana Secco DOCG and the Romagna Sangiovese Superiore DOC “Amedeo”, but in general all the wines of the Zavalloni farm are characterized by a very personal and, at the same time, identifiable style which coherently and expressively reflects the uniqueness of a unique wine territory, too often misunderstood and, wrongly, little considered.
