Koefererhof

The Köfererhof winery is located in Novacella, in the heart of a wonderful hill, surrounded by the suggestive mountains of South Tyrol. The farm dates back to the year 976 and, for this reason, is one of the oldest cellars in South Tyrol. It is a winery that for several decades supplied the grapes to the prestigious wineries in the area, but in 1995 Gunther Kerschbaumer began bottling and labeling his own wines, soon becoming one of the most appreciated winemakers in Alto Adige. We are in the Isarco Valley and Gunther's oenological precision improves and refines from year to year, from harvest to harvest, effectively expressing the peculiarities of the Adige territory. The vineyards, facing south, are located between 600 and 800 meters above sea level, depending on the type of grape grown, and rooted in sandy soil, rich in slate and granite; these are the best conditions, from a geological and climatic point of view, to give the wines of the Köfererhof winery their typical savory and mineral imprint. Another important element is the best ripening of the grapes and the high daily temperature range which creates the optimal conditions to develop complexity of aromas and olfactory scents. Köfererhof is a winery specializing in white wines and consequently dedicates particular interest to the indigenous or even historical varieties of this area, such as Sylvaner, Veltliner, Kerner and Muller Thurghau. There is also no shortage of Riesling Renano and Gewürztraminer, with characteristic aromatic hints and a strong personality. Köfererhof produces great white wines of unmistakable elegance and minerality, both typical and unique for the Valle Isarco wine region.
