The history of this small Veronese winery is relatively recent: it was born in 1980 from a dream of Sergio and Franca Nerozzi who decided to radically change their lives and move to the countryside, looking for a place that would combine the peace and tranquility of a natural environment with the possibility to carry out an agricultural activity. After a few years of frantic research, the couple found the ideal place, among the hills of Garda, exactly in Sommacampagna, not far from Verona. It is here that the beautiful “Le Vigne di San Pietro” agricultural company was born. The estate currently covers approximately ten hectares. The soil is extraordinary and strongly suited to viticulture, consisting of a subsoil of glacial origin, rich in limestone, clay and minerals and, in part, of volcanic origin. The proximity of Lake Garda also has a positive influence, creating a particular microclimate, which helps the vineyards to best express their peculiarities. Sergio's son Carlo, an architect and creative artist, has joined the company for some time now, full of passion which has led him, for about thirty years, to take care of the family vineyards together with his agronomist-oenologist friend Federico Giotto. . The grapes are typical of the area: Garganega, Trebbiano, Cortese and Manzoni Bianco as regards the white grapes, then naturally Rondinella, Corvina, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as regards the red grapes, the first two typical grapes of nearby Valpolicella. The company has always been very attentive to environmental impact, therefore natural methods are adopted both in the vineyard and in the cellar: for example, the land is never worked and the grass between the rows is eliminated mechanically, without the use of herbicides. Green manure is then practiced to promote biodiversity. The overall production amounts to 8 labels, among which Bardolino and Amarone stand out, two diametrically opposed wines, but undoubtedly the most representative of the company's philosophy.
