Madeira DOC HENRIQUES & HENRIQUES 10 years

The Madeira DOC 10 years is one of the most particular liqueur wines of Henriques & Henriques. The Henriques & Henriques winery is based in Camara de Lobos, a municipality on the island of Madeira. The best vines in Portugal have been grown here for over 150 years, thanks to the rich volcanic soil. The Madeira DOC 10 years is produced 100% from Malvasia vines, whose grapes are harvested starting from the second half of September. The harvest is transferred to the cellar; here the wine is left to age for a few years in wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. The phase that makes this fortified so special is the cooking: the wine is stored in steel tanks heated to 45º C for about three months, after which it is left to cool slowly before being definitively bottled. The finished product can be immediately uncorked and tasted, or it can also be kept for several years, while still remaining a refined and intense wine.
