Sangiovese 'Il Badilante' Podere 414 2015 75 Cl

Sangiovese "Il Badilante" is the rustic and qualitative proposal of Podere 414, a company that has its main estates in the province of Grosseto. Already from the name of the wine its rustic and decisive character can be grasped, given that the shoveler was the one who tilled the earth with a shovel. The Maremma scenario is perfect for the development of excellent labels, thanks to soils rich in clay and skeleton as well as favorably influenced by sea breezes. The absolute protagonist, needless to say, is 100% pure Sangiovese, one of the most widespread and appreciated black grape varieties in all of Italy. The harvest takes place in September and, when the best bunches have been de-stemmed on the farm, they are fermented and macerated. The refinement phase, which gives the classic touch of elegance and roundness of Sangiovese Toscana IGT, takes place for one part in cement tanks and for the other in large oak tonneaux. The result of the process is a wine of medium structure and very pleasant on the palate, which embodies all the characteristics of a territory that is only apparently rough.
