'Sondraia' Bolgheri DOC Rosso Superiore Poggio al Tesoro 2019

Sondraia Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC , a full-bodied wine produced by the Poggio al Tesoro winery, fits into the best tradition of the Super Tuscan style. In the making of this label Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are mostly used, present for 65%, to which are added Merlot (25%) and the remaining 10% of Cabernet Franc. All the varieties are grown on the red soils of the Maremma estate, which are mainly made up of clay and sandstone. In the cellar, the vinification begins with destemming of the bunches and delicate pressing. The alcoholic fermentation takes place over 12 days in stainless steel, while the malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barriques. In the same precious French barriques, half of which are used for the first passage, the wine remains for the one and a half year long aging phase. Sondraia Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC is an excellent wine already after bottling, but capable of evolutions that exceed 7 years, if it is carefully stored.
