It is the perfect boblet for red wines with good structure and intensity; this type of wine certainly needs to "open" (that means to better develop its aromatic, intense and complex profile) and this is made possible by contact with oxygen (oxygenation) which, in fact, is facilitated by the generous dimensions of the chalice.

This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 2-3 years.

Description

The Barbera d'Alba DOC is a fragrant red wine from the Massolino winery in the Langhe. It is obtained from the single-variety vinification of grapes of the local Barbera variety, which are grown near Serralunga d'Alba. The plots are located about 300 meters above sea level, where the vines plant their roots on limestone-rich substrates. Once the ideal degree of ripeness has been reached, only the healthiest and ripest bunches are carefully selected and harvested. Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes are left to ferment and macerate on the skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks for about 10 days. Even for refinement, the company focuses on stainless steel containers, where the wine rests for a few months before bottling, which takes place in the spring following the harvest. Barbera d'Alba DOC is a perfect red to be enjoyed immediately, but also after a further evolution of a couple of years in the cellar.
